 The TMT bar is a metal product that has been used in construction for several years now. TMT stands for Thermo Mechanical Treatment s which are important aspects of building design. The metal was first introduced by the British company “Tata Steel rate in Bangalore ” to replace concrete as it had become obsolete due to its many weaknesses such as being very vulnerable to tension but strong in compression, an imbalance that builders were confronted with when using this material. TMT bars were created with an understanding of these weaknesses and TMT dealers have often touted the metal as being superior to concrete because it is resistant to tension. - TMT Bars come in different gauges (i.e., thicknesses) which are measured by millimeter – Standard TMT can be purchased at a gauge of 175mm, 200mm or 250mm while oversized TMS may range from 300 mm up to 600 mm.
